The Bars

Chicago

Duke of Perth

2913 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60657
(773) 477-1741

If you like scotch – single malt scotch, then just like W+A, you will love Duke of Perth. This quaint establishment puts you right in the mood for intimate encounters with whisky, and I guess whoever you are with. The selection is great and the staff is readily available. They usually have a nice deal (specific to certain days) on some tasty food to help you taste as much of the bar as you can. No glitz and glamour needed here, this a pub for true fans of a good dram. Did we mention they have they widest selection of single malt scotch in Chicago?…guess we just did.

Old Fifth

1027 W Madison St, Chicago, IL 60607
(312) 374-1672

W+A Satellite location 1. If it’s not Smoke & Barrel in DC, then it is Old Fifth in Chi-Town that serves as an initial W+A “home” when Finn went to the windy city. Good food, good whisk(e)y AND GREAT service where Joe, Josh or Earl will take care of you and your whisk(e)y needs. W+A will most likely be there on a Thursday night continuing the voyage through the whisk(e)y menu.

Untitled

111 W Kinzie St, Chicago, IL 60654
(312) 880-1511

Officially, Untitled Supper Club, (if you want to eat there also) houses the famed Whiskey Library which contains over 400 varieties of American Whiskeys for any bourbon or rye addict to lose their minds over. Did I mention Untitled also hosts a weekly burlesque show to go along with the hundreds of whiskey? If you swear by bourbon or rye, Untitled is a MUST!

Jack Rose Dining Saloon

2007 18th St NW, Washington, DC 20009
(202) 588-7388

Home of the largest whisk(e)y collection (for sale) in the western hemisphere, and the third largest in the world, Jack Rose Dining Saloon is a must-go for any true whisk(e)y fanatic. In 2015 they celebrated 2015 whiskies. That’s TWO THOUSAND AND FIFTEEN DIFFERENT EXPRESSIONS! If you can’t find a whisk(e)y there, then you probably won’t find it anywhere else on this side of the world.

Dram & Grain

2007 18th St NW, Washington, DC 20009
(202) 588-7388

What makes the largest whisk(e)y bar in the western hemisphere even better? Having a speakeasy downstairs, that’s what! Open to the public Tuesday – Thursday with reservations needed for Friday + Saturday. Dram & Grain is a great experience over all.

Smoke & Barrel

2471 18th St NW, Washington, DC 20009
(202) 319-9353

The place that started it all, Smoke & Barrel can be considered the home of W+A. Not only is the food great and plentiful (shout out to Chef Logan) the bourbon selection is splendid! Resident bartender, JVR, is great and always willing to share his knowledge on the taste and history of the bourbon of your choice. Highly recommended! If you’re ever in the DC area, stop by on a Thursday evening and you can probably find one of us there.
