Peat’s Thoughts: I’ve long been looking for a bottle of this, and I still can’t find one. Every time I hear a story about someone snagging this prized possession, it’s with some convoluted twists and turns about they found a guy who knew a guy who was just willing to give it away “for a mere $200”. To that I say “blah!” That’s right, I’m salty. And I have every right to be. This discontinued offering from The Macallan is an absolute sherry bomb! An explosion of vanilla and chocolate, this beaut is best enjoyed with a splash of water because that’s when it truly comes to life. Just layers and layers of sherry goodness. Sweetness, but not in the overpowering sense. Oak, but not in the chewy sense. Just straight up deliciousness in a glass. And look at that colour! Jesus! Yes, I know it’s possible colouring was added, but you know what? I don’t care, because when it’s sloshing around in your mouth, the colour is the last thin on your mind. All you can focus on is how immaculate it tastes.
